Just Starting Out
This blog is all about my tourism education and training at TAFE and looking for a job in the tourism industry.
Yesterday I became enrolled at TAFE in a certificate 3 course called Tourism (Retail travel sales). Initially, when I found the name of this course, I was actually looking for something in science. Science being something that I have held interest in since a young age and have some experience in already. The laboratory courses were not available for many months and even then I felt that I had lost interest I once had in working as a technician or scientist.
I used the search function on the TAFE website to see what was available to me sooner. That is when I saw the tourism course. This 'mystery' tourism subject is something I have only experienced as a traveler. I have watched travel agents help me pick out holidays in the past and have thought to myself "I think I can do that" but not really known how to get that job. I now know of this one way to qualify myself for that job.
After the information and enrollment, I got fitted for a (compulsory) uniform for class, then bought the text book and Chinese made easy language book.
I am very keen for classes to start :-)
